Leather can never be eco. Wool can never be eco. Why are 5 of these 12 items containing livestock products? It’s one thing to upcycle already made fabrics, but “sustainably produced Norwegian leather” ? Come on. You are falling for greenwashing.” Vegetable tanning” is total BS. Livestock is the #1 cause of global warming. According to the United Nations, SHEEP make up 25% of ALL LAND MAMMALS. That does a mind-blowing amount of ecological devastation. 90% of News Zealand’s carbon footprint is caused by sheep. It is shocking to me that, even though we know that livestock and their byproducts wreak the hugest amount of ecological damage, there are still people willing to slap the term “eco” on it. What gives?
