RACHEL LINCOLN SARNOFF, ECOSTILETTO
"What do I want for Mother's Day (aside from a few more hours of sleep)? I'd have to say an
Ashley Watson upcycled leather-jacket bag. Aside from the fact that they're made from recycled materials lined with organic cotton (and thus ridiculously sustainable), they're just drop-dead gorgeous.
"The one I have my eye on is a beautiful caramel color, large enough to hold all the craziness that I need throughout my day (including a stainless steel water bottle) with pockets on the outside that used to be the pockets of the jacket. But honestly, I'd settle for a kiss from my kids and the aforementioned sleep."
—Rachel Lincoln Sarnoff, editor and founder of

Mommy Greenest and mother to Gabe, 11, Julia, 8, and Chloe, 3.

Great post, one point that really needs to get some attention is just how ‘ungreen’ the global cut flower market has become. Most of the roses and other cut flowers sold in America come from Colombia and Ecuador where pesticides that the US has banned are still used. Workers and local residents and the environment all pay the price for our cheap flowers.
