Who says the fashion industry is in the pooper? The Great White North had plenty of squares to spare at the Sixth Annual White Cashmere Collection 2009: Fashion with Compassion Show, an event that trotted out a bevy of models decked in designer ensembles crafted from Cashmere Bathroom Tissue. Held in Toronto on Sept. 23, the two-ply-feting event marked the return of Cashmere’s limited-edition Pink Roll, a fund- and awareness-raiser for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Fifteen of Canada’s top and emerging designers—including Greta Constantine, Sunny Fong, Paul Hardy, and Anastasia Lomonova— draped, shaped, and finessed rolls of T.P. into spectacular pink-and-white creations that belied their potty-peddling origins, from a romantic, rose-bedecked bustier bubble dress to an architectural spacesuit topped with a gaping “open observatory” collar.
The White Cashmere Collection is on display throughout October in The Bay’s Toronto and Montreal flagship store windows as part of the retailer’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities.
+ White Cashmere Collection 2009

I went to The Bay to check out the display last week and the dresses are soo stunning and perfect! They are Couture in its greatest handcrafted form!
p.s Cashmere is having an online contest for a trip to Paris for 2! and $10,000 shopping spree. (not enough to buy real couture but still pretty cool)
I entered that contest last week and everyday of this week…I really need a vacation. i wonder if they give away the designs to the winner I have searched high and low for a jacket like the Tavan & Mitto one!!
