The project was meant to be for the metropolitan city dweller. It was based on a hypothetical situation where even the people who lived in ritzy areas of a city would be able to seek shelter in an instant. So , they could wear these shelters as apparel and instantly seek shelter when needed. Aiming it at “bums” is a different project…the aesthetics of the clothing would be an entirely different scenario.

Yes, those shoes scream “I need shelter.” There’s something either deeply cynical or deeply naive about this, if not the project than its presentation.

I like this idea, but I don’t know how I feel about the models or AmAp-esque photos. I think they should have really worked this out and took photos with real bums who really need this. Homelessness is far from glamorous. As a fellow Philadelphian, I can assure you there are bums who would have willingly posed with this on in the fashion show for a free lunch.
