Allison Teich McGowan, TEICH

Allison Teich McGowan, TEICHTEICH (pronounced tie-shh) is Allison’s maiden name and means “pond” in German. It’s a word that suits the great respect she has for nature and the ways that respect can be demonstrated through sustainable design.

In 2005, Allison launched Again NYC, a collection of limited-edition bags made from rescued and repurposed materials. Hoping to reach a broader audience while still adhering to her eco-friendly design principles, she launched TEICH in 2007.

In June 2009, Allison opened her first retail location at 84 East 7th St in the East Village. In addition to TEICH handbags, the shop carries a well-curated selection of jewelry and other accessories made locally and with consideration for the environment.
