Whether the driving force was language or fashion, Kestrel's interest in global issues has led her around the world. She worked as a journalist with El Diario Austral in Chile, did PR for People Tree in London, and taught English to elementary students in Madrid, Spain. She found all of her interests collide in fair fashion, where her energy and spirit inspire a thirst to understand more and more about the field. She has a B.A. from Hamline University in global studies, international journalism, and Spanish. She has worked in the socially responsible fashion sector with Global Action Through Fashion, Fashion Me Green, and The GreenShows.
In honor of a pledge to be ethical in her clothing purchases for 365 days, she completed a project called Make Fashion Fair. Her one-year venture has now evolved into Hover Style- where she offers conscious style consultancy and personal shopping services.
