Eliza Starbuck, Bright Young Things

As a fashion enthusiast in her youth, Eliza Starbuck hunted through thrift stores and vintage boutiques for glamorous, one-of-a-kind clothes, learning how to style creatively and sustainably almost by default. She continued her adventure in fashion in New York City and in Paris at Parsons School of Design, graduating in 2000.

After 10 years of designing for fashion industry giants such as J.Crew, Club Monaco, and Coach, Starbuck has decided to shift gears and start her own line, Bright Young Things, whose mission is simple yet exceedingly rare: Fashion should be about expressing individuality, not brand identity; the industry has to be less wasteful; clothes need to be engineered to last for years rather than seasons; and they ought to be produced thoughtfully, locally, and with ethical labor standards.
