“We are extremely pleased to work with Camper, a family-owned company with strong values and a long-term perspective on our collaboration,” Simone Cipriani, head of the Ethical Fashion Initiative, said in a statement. “Beyond developing the collection and providing work for Ethiopian shoemakers, Camper has provided us with guidance in developing the capacities of the artisans.”

The resulting collection, made entirely in Ethiopia from local resources, comprises a vegetable-tanned leather boot and sandal in a variety of psychedelic colorways.

The designs offer a “modern twist to traditional African aesthetics,” according to Camper.

“Through creative long-term collaborations such as these, artisans living in extreme poverty can change their lives,” a Camper spokesperson said. “This collaboration aligns with Camper’s brand values of partnership and creativity.”

The limited-edition capsule carries three options for both men and women and is currently available in select brick-and-mortar CamperLab stores, as well as online at
