Is the Duchess of Cambridge an undercover patron of thrift stores? Undoubtedly, according to Grazia Daily, which tracked her gray National Portrait Gallery coat-dress—a design by the now-defunct high-street label Jesire—to a secondhand store in Berkshire called The Stock Exchange, not far from the Middleton manse in Bucklebury. Even future Queens of England, it seems, cannot pass up a deal. The store, which stocks “nearly new” designer threads, describes itself as the “premier venue for the fashion-conscious bargain hunter.”

ROYAL VINTAGE

“She bought the Jesire dress from here; we remember having it in and were really excited when we saw Kate on TV wearing it,” a shop assistant told the British glossy. “None of the Middletons have ever come into the store thought, so Kate must have a secret shopper. Whoever it is, we hope she continues shopping here!”

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, used to dispatch one of her aides there to shop for her.

The duchess isn’t the only member of the royal family to browse the racks of the store. Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, used to dispatch one of her aides there to shop for her. “The Stock Exchange is certainly a treasure trove of designer bargains,” Grazia Daily notes, “with a Miu Miu skirt with pleated bow for just £40, an Issa dress for £27.60 and a Gucci handbag for £50.”

Royals, they’re just like us. Well, except when they’re not.
