A little whimsy for your Friday: these “cardboard ladies” by Swiss-Italian artist-photographer Christian Tagliavini. Shot in the manner of formal portraiture, his Dame di Cartone series captures women’s fashion through the ages, from ruff-collared Elizabethan gowns to wacky Cubist ensembles. Viewed together, the pieces reveal the transient nature of fashion, according to Tagliavini. Harem pants, Crocs, and acid-wash jeans get you down? These too shall pass.
