Cri de Coeur and 7 for All Mankind aren’t names you typically utter in the same sentence. A chance encounter between the vegan accessories label and the Los Angeles denim-maker, however, revealed more in common than not. The two brands sealed their relationship in the only way the fashion industry knows how: a double-barreled collaboration in the form of a vegan cross-body bag. Slated to drop in 7 For all Mankind flagship stores mid-October, the classically styled carryall—the tassel is a nice touch—consists of ethically sourced, high-quality Italian faux leather and other nontoxic materials. The best part? It’ll cost less than $100, a conscious decision by both brands to keep the item within reach.

FAUX REAL

“Our exclusive-to-7 for All Mankind label came about due to a mutual respect for each other’s leadership in fashion and innovation,” Julie Dicterow, designer and co-owner of Cri de Coeur, tells Ecouterre. “It’s an ideal collaboration for Cri de Coeur because [7 for All Mankind is] already known for its artistic partnerships with artists and designers.

Cri de Coeur hopes to inspire shoppers to choose cruelty-free alternatives to leather.

Dicterow also views the partnership as an opportunity to reach a different audience. “[We hope to] inspire fashionistas everywhere to buy cruelty-free alternatives to leather.”
