Fittersift’s Dress Shirt Turns Body Heat Into Therapeutic Infrared Energy

Fittersift wants to optimize your body’s inefficiencies. The nascent firm has developed a men’s dress shirt that uses “responsive textile technology” to turn waste body heat into infrared energy, which the company claims can increase blood oxygen levels, improve circulation, and help regulate body temperature. Sound dubious? Its apparent therapeutic qualities aren’t the only things going for it. Fittersift also designed its shirt to flex as you move, wick away sweat, and control odors. Plus, it’s made in the good ol’ U.S. of A., right in the heart of New York City’s Garment District.


So what goes into this responsive textile technology, exactly? Fittersift says each shirt comprises 13 thermoreactive minerals that work in tandem to convert the heat that escapes from our bodies into useful energy, with “clinically proven” benefits.

Equally technical is the shirt’s moisture-management system, which uses a blend of hydrophilic and hydrophobic fibers, rather than chemicals, to keep the wearer bone-dry. Another salient feature is its use of Polygiene, a silver-salt antimicrobial that meets Bluesign’s strict environmental standards.

“We’re establishing an efficient link between the clothes we wear and the way they respond to our body,” says Eric Gruboy, Fittersift’s founder, in a press release.

The firm is currently soliciting preorders for the shirt, which is available in white, blue, and black, on Kickstarter. Early backers can snag a shirt at a starting pledge of $89.
