Not quite. The mock anime trailer is the product of Greenpeace, the environmental nonprofit behind the “Detox” campaign to clean up the fashion industry. While the animated future portrayed in the video borders—if just barely—on hyperbole, a people’s revolution isn’t all that far-fetched: Thanks to intense public pressure from activists, bloggers, and consumers, Zara, the world’s No. 1 apparel retailer, pledged to eliminate all hazardous chemicals from its supply chain and products by 2020.
