Gucci is set to see green this fall with a new range of optical frames made from sustainable materials. The luxury brand, together with eyewear manufacturer Safilo, will introduce four models in Gucci’s signature green and red hues. Made from an acetate that contains a higher percentage of natural materials than its conventional counterpart, the glasses are part of Gucci and Safilo’s quest for alternatives to petroleum-derived plastic.

VISION QUEST
Also making their debut in August are two sunglasses in a bio-based material synthesized from castor seeds. If you’re a “dynamic consumer who is attentive and sensitive to environmental issues”—and, quite possibly, very deep pockets— the fashion house designed them just for you.
