As intoxicating as a global shopping spree sounds, we have to turn a gimlet eye to the rampant consumerism Fashion Night’s Out promotes. For the rest of us—those of us who don’t want to sit at home and mope, that is—(Sustainable) Fashion’s Night Out offers a planet-friendlier alternative. Hosted by EcoSalon, Of Rags, and the New York City Fair Trade Coalition at the Textile Arts Center in Manhattan, the event promises an evening of shopping, education, and revelry with an ethical point of view. Mingle with green designers and labels such as A.D.O. Clothing, Afia, Erin Considine, Feral Childe, Eliza Starbuck, Shabd, and more. Plus, it’s free and open to everyone. We’ll be there with bells on—won’t you join us?
