WATER FOR ALL

H&M has sold a bikini for WaterAid every summer for the past 10 years, but this marks the first time it has dedicated an entire collection to the cause. The money raised will help fund WaterAid’s sanitation projects in Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan where a portion of the retailer’s clothing is produced. So far, H&M’s support has helped more than 150,000 people gain access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene knowledge, according to the company.

“H&M has a social and environmental responsibility in the countries where we operate and water is one of our focus area.” says Helena Helmersson, H&M’s head of corporate social responsibility. “WaterAid is operating in some countries where H&M suppliers are located and we feel that it is very important for us to contribute to better livelihoods for people in these regions. We are very proud of being part of making a difference and of our cooperation with WaterAid.”

The H&M for Water collection is available at 200 stores worldwide, as well as select markets online.
