Arriving from Mainland China, Foshan King Wonder New Material Technology will unveil its EasyTex and VerBeq fabrics, both of which boast windproof, waterproof, breathable, and antibacterial properties. “Unlike many other waterproof fabrics, our new ones are PFC- and DMF-free,” says deputy marketing manager Cherry Gan, referring to polyfluorinated compounds, a class of hormone-disrupting chemicals that accumulate in the environment, and dimethylformamide, a known liver toxicant, used in conventional water- and stain-resistant coatings.

Other suppliers to keep an eye peeled for include Taiwan’s Everest Textile, which will fete knitted and woven fabrics designed to minimize energy consumption during production, and Jiangsu Xinkaisheng Enterprise Development from Mainland China, which will present its Global Recycling Standard–certified polyester fleece, polyester, and spandex fabrics.

Wendy Wen, senior general manager at Messe Frankfurt Hong Kong, the show’s organizer, promises a rewarding experience for visitors. “As a well-known sourcing platform for the latest fashionable, functional, and eco-fabrics and garment accessories in the region, the fair has received many compliments on its product range and quality from visitors who have been to the previous editions,” she says.

Other things to look forward to: seminars on fashion trends, business strategy, and sustainable technologies, as well as a “Fabrics to Fashion” runway that pairs several renowned designers with fabrics from some of the exhibitors.
