The ayes have it: The Sixth Annual Independent Handbag Designer Awards has named Kempton & Co.’s “Wiltshire” carryall “Best Green Handbag” of 2012. Designed by English transplant Fiona Kempton, who was inspired by equestrian and field and stream aesthetics, the roomy tote combines vintage textiles with reclaimed hardware to present the perfect marriage of ruggedness and femininity. Kempton used a discarded flour sack, leather scraps, and hardware from three Salvation Army purses to evoke the saddles and fly-fishing bags of her youth.
