The coats themselves are cut to be quintessentially British—with a twist. A feminine skirted macintosh, clad in checked tweed, includes a detachable faux-fur collar, while the collarless beige crombie features untreated woven wool and faux-leather trim. “I’m absolutely delighted to be working in collaboration with Topshop,” Lane says. “[It’s] so supportive of the causes about which I am passionate: the revival and support of the British textile industry, the revival of wool, one of our most sustainable resources, and of course the championing of animal-welfare issues.” The Izzy Lane for Topshop range, she adds, is the “ultimate in authenticity, from the nurture of the sheep through to the finished pieces.”
