target does something similar, i’ve tried to purchase a hunter metal fan, the display model, perfect condition, the plug was still wrapped up in plastic, the non-display fans were all sold out. they wouldn’t sell it to me (for the full price of $50 bucks) because it is their policy to destroy them… ok, besides me wanting to purchase the fan, why not give the item to those in need. i’d wonder what else they destroy…
