“Fashion is such a huge part of my life, and I think you can love clothes and love shopping and still be true to your ideas about eco-friendly living. [How?] By taking care of your clothes so they last longer. By picking things you actually like instead of what’s trendy, so that every month you’re not chasing some new look and throwing out your old one. And I’m a big fan of swapping clothes with your friends, because when you’re sick of something, it can still feel like new to someone else. The trick is to find friends who have your sense of style.”

—Jessica Alba, actress and co-founder of The Honest Company, speaking to Elle on Tuesday about her upcoming book, The Honest Life.
