Inspired by exotic travelogues and 1960s air travel, Spring/Summer 2011 offers a departure from Berman’s usual oeuvre of avant-garde, vintage-and-reclaimed ensembles, but in a way that elevates her already-inimitable brand.

Who else would create a raincoat that depicts fluctuations in the stock market?

The lineup, which features vibrant one-of-a-kind textiles that Berman created with her award-winning photographer sister, comprises accessible, eminently wearable pieces that nevertheless bear the punk-inspired edge that Berman is known for. And although themes like space age and safari were referenced in the collection, Berman’s rock ‘n roll aesthetic remained robust.
