Ecco Domani Award recipient John Patrick of Organic helped kick off New York Fashion Week when he feted his Spring/Summer 2011 collection at Manhattan’s Ace Hotel on Wednesday. The theme for his collection, water, mirrored Patrick’s own clean and uncomplicated—not to mention gender-bending—aesthetic.
“I feel a sense of needing to do more to protect the environment,” says John Patrick.
A portable NYC tap water station, parked outside the hotel, underscored Patrick’s appreciation of water issues—why should New Yorkers buy bottled water when Gotham’s tap-water supply is one of the world’s best? “I feel a sense of needing to do more to protect the environment,” says Patrick. “It’s incredibly important to tread lightly on the Earth, and there’s always room for improvement.”
