Julianne Moore Wears Eco-Chic Tom Ford to “Game Change” D.C. Premiere

The difference between an acid-tongued former running mate from Alaska and the Hollywood actress who portrays her? Tom Ford, evidently. Julianne Moore, who plays Sarah Palin in Game Change, an HBO movie about the 2008 presidential election, did her bit for Livia Firth’s Green Carpet Challenge on Monday in an upcycled absinthe gown with a plunging cowl neckline and sleeves derived from vintage velvet panels. The sustainable beauty [Ford] produced is also cheekily subversive,” says Firth, whose husband, Colin, starred with Moore in the Ford-directed film A Single Man in 2009. “In Game Change, Julianne incredibly transforms into Sarah Palin, arguably the un-greenest woman on the planet. So we have indirectly got some green fashion on Sarah Palin. How’s that for a GCC victory?”

GREEN SCREEN

Moore joins a phalanx of Tinseltown A-listers who have participated in Firth’s sustainable fashion initiative, including Meryl Streep, Viola Davis, Michael Fassbender, and Kenneth Branagh. “Hats off to Tom Ford and Julianne Moore,” Firth adds. “Two true artists, and one hell of a dress!”
