Bug off, malaria. Supermodel Kate Moss is swatting for the other team, and she’s doing in with her own inimitable brand of glam: by donning a body-cleaving strapless dress partly woven from recycled mosquito nets. Commissioned by Sport Relief, the corseted, patchwork number was designed by William Tempest to highlight the celebrity-backed fundraiser’s 2010 commitment to battling malaria.
GENERATING BUZZ
Both Tempest and Moss are rallying the British public to help fund insecticide-treated mosquito nets—one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways of preventing the spread of malaria in the poorest countries, where antimalarial drugs are expensive.

“I was shocked to hear that one child dies from malaria in Africa every 30 seconds, that’s why I was happy to be involved in this important project for Sport Relief,” says Moss in a statement. “William Tempest’s dress is a great way of raising awareness of the seriousness of malaria, a disease which is both preventable and treatable. Donating just £5 can pay for a net which helps protect from potentially fatal mosquito bites that spread malaria.”
The one-off upcycled frock will be auctioned off to further the cause.
