BLAZING SADDLES
Wearing oversize “Magic Carpet” print scarves and wide-brimmed hats by MLE Hagen, the models slink past a celeb-filled front row that includes reality-TV alum Whitney Port, America’s Next Top Model’s Miss J. Alexander, and jewelry designer Pamela Love.
Hoffman’s prints are a talismanic pastiche of Mayan astrology, meteorite patterns, and the “third eye” symbol.
Needless to say, Hoffman’s original prints—a talismanic pastiche of Mayan astrology, Turkish prayer rugs, meteorite patterns, and the “third eye” symbol—are the main draw. They border on New Agey, certainly, but the overall effect is one of worldly ease; hippy without being dippy.
In addition to bespoke jewelry by All for the Mountain, which incorporated elements from her prints, Hoffman worked with Sarah Havens of Zebber Nails to create custom-printed nail designs for the show.
Hoffman’s condoms, by the by, will hit stores this week, in time for National Condom Week. A portion of sales will help Planned Parenthood further its work to improve women’s health and safety.
