Hepburn decided to launch a dedicated bridal collection after noticing a demand from her clientele. “Our customers started wearing our dresses and sending us some images,” she tells Ecouterre. These aren’t your run-of-the mill wedding gowns, however. They’re designed to take you “from vows to cocktails to festivals.” Without the explosion of tulle and sequins that characterizes most bridal attire, Minna’s “un-wedding dress” can be worn long after the final toast.

In addition to using local materials and labor, Minna is looking into end-of-roll silks, which are frequently disposed of because of their odd yardage. One of Hepburn’s suppliers is working towards Soil Association certification, which will allow the silk to be classified as “organic.” Hepburn is also looking to appeal to vegan brides by seeking out organic cotton, as well as “something old” in the form of antique lace.

Despite starting at a relatively affordable £200, Minna’s gowns are no less bespoke than one custom-made. They can be altered to your specifications or discreetly hand-embroidered with the wedding date or lines from a favorite poem. Although the gowns will be sold primarily online, Minna will be accepting studio appointments in September.
