Forget your activity tracker band – just integrate the sensors right into your workout shirt for no-fuss and accurate biometrics monitoring. That’s the principle behind OMSignal’s Biometric Smartwear, which tracks and monitors your heart rate, breathing and steps all with the goal of getting you in the zone during your workout. Wear the shirt even when you aren’t working out and it will monitor your health, weight, activity, help your posture, and even tell you when to relax. This is the new wave of wearable technology.

OMSignal is a new wearable technology brand focussed on improving your health through apparel that features bio-sensors woven right into the fabric. No need to wear an activity tracker on your wrist and a heart rate monitor too, the tshirt does it all. The compression shirt is designed to improve blood circulation as well as your posture, plus it has all the sensors needed to track your heart rate, heart rate variability, breathing rate, breathing depth, activity intensity, steps walked, and calories burned. The data is routed through a little black box you plug into the shirt, which transmits data through your smart app.

The app shows you all the relevant data for your workout and for your daily life. Optimize your workout with help from the app to get your heart beating in the right zone to burn calories or fat and sync up with your buddies to make it more social. Wear the shirt during the day to monitor your general activity level as well as your stress. Set the app to alert you if you’re being lazy or not taking enough deep breaths. The app can also alert you to potential medical emergencies, say if your heart is racing. The technology may even be possible for pregnant women to monitor the heart beat of their unborn child too. All this data can help you become a healthier, fitter and more zen-like you, just by wearing a shirt.

Men’s shirts, which come in sleeveless, short-sleeve, and long-sleeve, will be released this year and starts at $199 for a T-shirt and the black box tracker unit. Buy additional shirts that can be used with your existing black box. Shirts can be thrown in the wash just like normal, but be sure to unplug the rechargeable black box first. Women’s shirts should be out by the end of 2014.
