The cool, sporty palette (canary yellow, terracotta, and fluorescent white, juxtaposed with modern neutrals like navy and putty), plus the adroit Matryoshka-like layering, gave the lineup a fresh, neo-Japanese appeal. There was also plenty of slinky loungewear, perfect for repeat viewings of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof on sultry summer nights.

Elevated basics never looked so crazysexycool.
