Senior editor Yuka Yoneda strikes a pose in the Lady Ascot Dress by Jai. Made from organic wool from Vermont, the frock was inspired by designer Kizzy Jai Knight’s hometown in England.
Quoth Yuka: “Even though this dress looks fancy with its elegant drapes, it’s incredibly comfy and perfect for a night out dancing, which totally makes sense since Kizzy comes from a dance background and Jai’s underlying philosophy is to be ‘playfully regal.’” Jai will be at the upcoming D&A LA. “I loved the light as air feeling of this dress. It actually looks a lot like suede, so picking it up and feeling how light the fabric is is quite a surprise,” she says. “The ruffles give it a playful quality and the shape is very forgiving. (I’d just eaten lunch and a fistful of cookies right before taking this shot so I was thankful for those strategically placed pleats!)”
Brit Liggett, contributing writer, video producer, and Inhabitat editor, is wearing the Sunningdale Classic from Jai Active Wear.
“This dress is not only sassy, well-tailored and elegant, but it is also extremely comfortable,” she says. “I felt so great wearing it I think I might have to head over to Jai to pick one up to take home with me!”

Editor-in-chief Jill Fehrenbacher dons Samantha Pleet’s Kilt Romper. “I love how fun and cute this romper is,” she says. “It’s half punk rock and half girly-girly. I’ve never been a huge fan of plaid but this jumper makes me see plaid in a whole new light.”
