Terry Dewal made this rag rug was by cutting old jeans into strips, then weaving them on a floor loom. “The rug is long wearing, machine-washable and adds a flare of color and design to any room,” he says. A few splashes of Clorox gave them a blotchy, stonewashed appearance.

this is awesome – so well crafted.

These rugs are awesome! I have washed my hundreds of times (have 2 little kids) and they never fray and never get wavy along the edge. Lots of heart and hard work go into making this rugs and it shows!!
We have some of these denim rugs and they last forever!! Some have been in our kitchen for over 10 years and they still look awesome. The craftmanship on this creative use of old blue jeans is second to none and over the years there have been hundreds of old blue jeans converted into rugs that seem to last forever.
Love this! Which are yours on etsy.com? There are several.
Thank-you katrobion1. I am “rags2rugsandmore” on Etsy.
These rugs are very durable, easy to wash and do not show their wear. I use mine in the house and in the car to save my carpets since they wash up so easily! They are a life saver!!
yours is my definite favorite in the contest–beautiful, practical, lasting! How many pairs of jeans does it take to make one rug? Love your etsy site–thanks for the link.
Three pairs of average sized jeans will make you a nice sized rug. Probably about 40-50 inches.
Thank you,
Terry Ann
