Timberland is getting a little help from its friends—ex-Beatle Ringo Starr, to be precise. The shoemaker has announced the launch of “Canvas That Cares,” a new program to raise funds for charity through the auction of custom-designed Earthkeepers boots. The inaugural edition of 75 shoes will feature original “peace sign” artwork by Starr, along with a rare, personal signature from the notorious autograph-refuser. Clad in leather and Bionic canvas, derived in part from recycled plastic bottles, the boots are destined to become instant collectibles, particularly because they’re available in a single size: Starr’s own men’s size 8.

The best part? A full 100 percent of proceeds will benefit WaterAid, a nonprofit dedicated to improving access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene across the globe. “For 30 years, WaterAid has brought clean water to millions of people in the world’s poorest communities,” Starr says in a statement. “This partnership with Timberland will allow others to make a real difference in these people’s lives, and the boots are a reminder I’m with them every step in this journey.”

The auction aims to raise at least $18,750 for WaterAid, which improves access to safe water in the world’s poorest communities.

The auction, which aims to raise at least $18,750 for WaterAid, will begin December 1 on eBay with a starting bid of $250 per set. Each pair will come with two sets of laces, but 35 will also include a Timberland duffel bag made of recycled nylon. A further 10 pairs will come with a second pair of Bionic-canvas boots, this time in your choice of size.
