Using goose down to insulate jackets or pad pillows and mattresses is an archaic tradition that causes intense harm to geese and ducks. As PETA mentions, the animals are often hung by their necks and fragile wings, as their feathers are ripped from their skin while the animals are alive. Many down factories are located in China, a country that has no laws or regulations protecting birds.

PETA’s presentation f the Innovator for Animals Award is not just for Plumtech’s suitability to replace down, but also for its superior attributes.

Aside from being absolutely cruelty-free, Plumtech helps fight against fashion waste. The material is made from recycled polyester from the fashion and industrial worlds, eliminating these sourced materials from clogging up our landfills.

Plumtech also performs better than down, maintaining its insulating properties when wet. Its high density fibers have a soft texture and lightweight structure, making it comfortable and moveable as it is warm.
