Sophie Kemp’s Rings, Made From International Currency, Have “Cash”-et

Sophie Kemp, recycled jewelry, upcycled jewelry, recycled fashion, upcycled fashion, eco-fashion, sustainable fashion, green fashion, ethical fashion, sustainable style

While attending an interactive design workshop hosted by Daljit Singh, U.K. art student Sophie Kemp was prompted to “redesign the parameters of a common interaction.” The result? Wearable accessories made from the dollar bills of 12 different countries. Kemp used disarmingly simple origami techniques to fold the fully functional rings, allowing the distinct design and color scheme of each note to give each piece its own playful twist. These charmingly geometric rings are sure to give a cosmopolitan flair to your jewelry collection, and they might even come in handy when you’re running low on cash.
