The straight-cut jean, according to Alphyn Industries, fuses traditional denim-making techniques with 21st century utility and aesthetics. Informed by military innovations, the company aims to merge “advanced mobile gear with everyday clothing to accommodate our communication culture,” according to Ben Raviv, its CEO. “We test and use the best materials because we know it is what our customers expect,” he adds.

Each pant is handmade in the Bay Area from a blend of indigo-dyed cotton denim and organic cotton. The smartphone pocket includes a buttonhole for threading a set of headphones, as well as a zip-around flap that hides your phone when you’re not using it. An extended belt loop even comes with a black key ring. Smart by name, smart by design.
