Vanessa Paradis may be better known to Americans as the mother of Johnny Depp’s children, but the French singer-actress is coming into her own as the new face of H&M Conscious, an ongoing label-within-a-label from the Swedish retailer that employs planet-friendlier materials such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, and Tencel. In a video for the collection’s spring campaign, which coincides with the start of H&M’s global clothes-recycling initiative, Paradis models pieces such as a ruffle-edged yellow sundress, an embellished zip-up utility jacket, and botanical-print trousers.

Described by the company as “full of optimism for spring,” the upcoming line also juxtaposes romantic styles like floor-length dresses and ankle-strap heels with sportier shapes such as cropped jumpsuits and patterned T-shirt dresses.
The full women’s collection will be available in H&M stores worldwide and online in late March.
“I like being part of something like the Conscious collection at H&M,” Paradis says in a statement. “I try my best to shop consciously, and vintage is very much part of my wardrobe. I love the style and it works in an eco-friendly way because I like to use and reuse old clothes.”
