VIDEO: CuteCircuit Lights Up Spring 2015 New York Fashion Week

Francesca Rosella and Ryan Genz, whose “Q by CuteCircuit” smartphone app allowed its models to dictate their clothing’s appearance, demoed an updated version makes downloading digital patterns online—and then displaying them instantaneously—a cinch. The app now connects to Twitter, as well—just in case you need to make a 140-character statement on the fly. “Because the hashtag is decided by each individual wearer, tweets shown on the garment are always under their control,” Rosella said after the show. “For example, a special hashtag could be invented for a specific social event and friends sharing this hashtag can literally message their thoughts to each others’ clothing.”

Better pack your shades; the future is looking pretty bright.
