VIDEO EXCLUSIVE: Ecouterre Hits the Green Carpet at Christie’s “Runway to Green”

by , 04/06/11   filed under: Eco-Celebrities, Eco-Fashion Shows

Ecouterre bumped elbows with New York’s media elite on the green carpet outside Christie’s “A Bid to Save the Earth” as celebrities and environmental activists alike struck poses for the flashing bulbs. The green auction and “Runway to Green” fashion show were all in the name of raising money, of course—four non-profits that look after our beloved Mother Earth benefitted from the $1.4 million that was raised—and the mood was glitz and glamour all the way. We squeezed ourselves in the front row to chat with some of the event’s biggest names, including designers Michael Kors and Rachel Roy, actor Ted Danson, and philanthropists Susan and David Rockefeller Jr., about their views on eco-fashion.

Nice work Brit! This video is awesome, and I love Ted Danson.

I hope these designers’ efforts to be more eco-friendly end up considering animal welfare as a part of that. Cashmere and any type of fur, etc, is extremely inhumane and shouldn’t be excluded from their efforts to be more green.
