ABOUT THE PRATT INSTITUTE’S BF+DA

The BF+DA is an initiative launched by Pratt Institute that provides designers with the resources they need to transform their ideas into successful businesses. With over $2,000,000 in initial funding pledged by Pratt Institute, the State of New York, New York City, and the borough of Brooklyn, the BF+DA brings high-potential fashion designers, industrial designers, and technologists together under one roof.

The BF+DA is a hub for ethical fashion and design. The BF+DA provides its Venture Fellows and Members access to on-site business mentorship, small-run apparel production, no minimum knitting services, digital fabrication services, showroom space, and retail sites. The BF+DA offers sustainable strategies consulting, materials sourcing, and links to existing NYC manufacturers.

The BF+DA Research Fellows explore production, materiality, and wearable technology, connecting technology to a 21st century vision that seeks to redefine the fashion industry.

A positive impact in my life was when i found what i needed to become a better person. I discovered how the power of giving could change the world. I live only to give all i can to those in need. Be it the children, wildlife, or the environment i strive to make a change that will aid all those in need. To see an end to poverty and to give all children a chance at something great. I see the world as a chain and we are only as strong as our weakest link. By strengthening those weak links we can improve the human race. those that have the ability to promote and inspire have the responsibility to do so. This was the impact that changed my life and also saved it.MY inspiration came from a man who i now admire and strive to be more. like.
